My Adventure Path is a reading and storytelling app made for families. This policy
explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
We do not show third-party ads and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Built for families. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or
guardian. Child profiles are set up by the parent inside the parent's account. The app
does not knowingly let children create accounts or share information publicly, and it
contains no behavioral advertising.
Information we collect
Parent account information
Email address (used to sign in and to send sign-in/security codes).
Profile details you choose to provide: name or nickname, birthday, phone number, and city/state.
An optional home location (region and approximate coordinates) used only to personalize the in-app world map and adventure discovery.
Notification preferences and language.
Child profile information (entered by the parent)
The child's name or nickname, birthday, and city/state.
An optional profile photo or illustrated avatar (see below).
In-app activity: reading progress, completed stories, badges, points, and keepsakes such as postcards and photo-album entries.
Photos used to create avatars
If you choose to create a personalized avatar, you may take a photo or pick one from your photo library. That image is used to generate an illustrated character. A no-photo "classic look" option is always available.
Microphone / audio
The app includes an optional live voice feature that uses the microphone. This feature is turned off in the current release and no audio is captured. If it is enabled in a future version, audio is used only to power that feature in real time.
Technical information
Basic device and log information needed to operate the service, diagnose problems, and keep accounts secure.
How we use information
To provide and personalize the app — sign you in, save child profiles and reading progress, generate avatars, and show relevant adventures.
To send essential account messages such as sign-in codes and security notices, and optional notifications you have enabled.
To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
To keep the service safe, secure, and working correctly.
How information is shared
We do not sell your or your child's personal information, and we do not share it for
advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the app,
and only as needed to provide their service:
Convex — secure database and file storage that hosts the app's backend and saved content.
OpenAI — generates illustrated avatars and story artwork. When you create an avatar, the photo and prompt are sent to OpenAI's API to produce the illustration. According to OpenAI's API data-usage policy, content submitted through the API is not used to train its models.
Resend — delivers transactional email such as sign-in codes.
RevenueCat — manages optional subscriptions. (In-app purchases are disabled in the current release.)
Expo / EAS and Apple — app build, delivery, and App Store distribution.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and
security of our users and the service.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the
service. You can delete an individual child profile in the app at any time. To delete your
account and associated data, contact us at
support@myadventurepath.app and we will process the request.
Your choices and rights
Review and update parent and child profile details in the app.
Manage notification preferences in Settings.
Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us.
Grant or revoke camera, photo, microphone, and location permissions in your device settings; these are optional and only requested for the features that use them.
Children's privacy
My Adventure Path is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or
guardian who creates and manages the account. We collect a child's information only from
the parent who provides it, use it solely to operate the app's features, and never use it
for advertising or sell it. A parent may review, update, or delete their child's
information at any time, or contact us to do so.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect
information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to
protect your data and to limit access to it.
International users
The app is operated from the United States and information may be processed there and in
other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app.
